31 Day - Belle De Jour

This picture is from News of the World

This post doesn't really relate to to Belle De Jour herself. But the girl who quoted this person recently in an interview.
It is controversial statement. Admitting your prostitution, its ok to do prostitution and even a career choice. Here's a full report of her confession and declaration, entitle, Being a hooker is summing I love this must be read by a conscious mind of a person and also you're 18 and above. I'm speechless actually when Iwatch her video. But that's her then.
The thing is, this was the girl that we fellow Malaysian proud of and she's not even Malaysian.

30 Day - Let's Mambo

I bought this book two years back. It said that it was a graphic novel. Is it another word for comic? I have no idea and careless. It cost RM19.00. But if you go to Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair from 4th to 13th April at PWTC you'll get almost 50% discount at RM10 per book.
Ok here it goes....
To be continue............

29 Day - A Small Talk with a Cartoonist

I'm very bad with small talk. What to talk about. I don't know you personally bro. I just say hi coz to me you're someone famous that I know and you remember. You do remember right? Whatever. Famous a big word ain't it. NVM let me use the famous.
They are a few things I should actually explain. Don't repeat what I said or wrote to you 2 years back. Come one two years back? It doesn't correlate with now. Totally different.
I'll read the book again and I review it k. A review from a reader that doesn't know anything about any literature. Bad at languages and even speech and also speak plus writing and handwriting. I have problem forming a full sentence sometime orally I mean. I jumbled up sentences, even proverbs also orally I mean. Not that I'm mad just the capital SHY.
You asked about do I think the book relate to your life? I don't even know you. How should I comment on that.
Have you heard of if a women have a tough life. She would be a successful writer. And probably her book is about her.
Ok its probably about you. Did you made a statement on that? A writer may make a statement that his or her masterpiece is about his or her life or based on his or her life. Any way if you remember, the front cover of the book even said that it was based on the writer's life. Based not your life k.
Then why Mambo? Hmm. I wonder why?
It was light and no telenovella. Previously the person in charge from the AL-AMEEN SERVE HOLDINGS SDN. BHD. why not buy from Aie. Aie's works are basically typically him. So I was into his works when I was in secondary school. Teenage stuff. Not that his works is about teenage its just that too melodramatic I guess. But I'll give it a try later I think. Just for the sake of comparing.
Then another small talk about where I'm from.
I'm a shy person to actually have this conversation. LOL. Yes I'm a shy person.
Overall the cartoonist was ok. He said that he's shy. I just take it as it is. I don't really care much. Remember the phrase from Italian Job, Stella quoted "I trust everyone. It's the devil inside them I don't trust." I think that quote doesnt suit me at all. LOL.
To me I accept everyone as it is. I try not to judge. If something else new about this person I knew I just add to the list. I think I repeat this sh*t so many time. LOL
I only wants his autograph for his works then as an extra bonus, I even receive a free caricature from him for being a very supportive fan. Yeay... LOL.
This my book getting ready to get autograph.

26 Day - Child Prodigy into Prostitution

OK, definition first. form here it says that is a child who masters one or more skills or arts at an early age. One generally accepted heuristic for identifying prodigies is: a prodigy is a child, typically younger than 13 years old, who is performing at the level of a highly trained adult in a very demanding field of endeavor. That it took from here, Feldman, David H: "Child Prodigies: A Distinctive Form of Giftedness", National Association for Gifted Children, Gifted Children Quarterly., 1993, 37(4): 188-193.
And from here, it says it's a noun, and it means a prodigy whose talents are recognized at an early age.
There are a lot of child prodigies in the world and here's the list. Another is the fictional child prodigies. Add to the list from Wikipedia is Jimmy Neutron. LOL. The Malay version of it a hysterical then ever.
In this post I want to just brief about the daughter of a Malaysian (mom) and a Pakistanis (dad) Sufiah Yusof. Actually not really brief just some so call facts that I gather from the news and also what I think of it. Just the practical view of it.

Ran Away

She ran away from St Hilda’s College in 2000, the day after her third year exams, sparking newspaper headlines, a nationwide hunt and emotional appeals from her family.
She was in hiding in Bournemouth, working in a hotel. She was posing as a student among the 30,000 foreigners who go to the seaside resort each year to study English. When she was found by police in an internet café she refused to return to her parents and was taken into care by a foster family.
When she ran away she sent an email accusing her father of making her life "a living hell" and of putting her through "15 years of physical and emotional abuse". She send an ultimatum to ask her dad to tell the press that she was save and she’s in Scotland or London with her relatives. He as expected of course denied the accusation. He even said that her daughter had run away with some nasty socialists and boyfriends.
Amazingly, she actually passed her exam that she took before she ran away.
Here are the reports of her disappearance.
Her parent lives in Westwood Heath, Coventry near Warwick University, where Sufiah's brother, Iskander, 14, and sister, Noraisha, 27, study who are in their second year. Their youngest daughter, Zuleila, 6, is preparing to sit her A-level math. A family of genius indeed.
If you read all the reports, you’ll read that her father didn’t say that his children as genius or gifted but they became like that through a proper training that the parents conduct and he’s going to make a book out of it.

Her siblings

A teenage brother and sister who were the youngest siblings ever to go to university have graduated with math degrees.
Iskander Yusof, 15, and his sister Noraisha, 19, have been given their degrees by Warwick University.
Her dad didn’t want to comment on his daughter Sufiah Yusof’s issue.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/education/2122284.stm

Married

Sufiah Yusof, 19, marries Jonathan Marshall, 24, a trainee lawyer from Keble College. The pair met at a Law Society function more than a year ago, after Sufiah returned to Oxford in October 2002 to complete her final year but she failed to complete the course and did not get a degree.

Her dad sexual assault

Her father was arrested after touching a girl on the chest and attempting to kiss her as her parents watched television in a nearby room.
The victim's father said: "This man came across as intelligent, smooth-talking, charming. He said my daughter was very bright and that he would be able to further develop her skills.
"He even told us that his daughter went to Oxford - but he didn't tell us the rest of her story.
"He took a strong interest in our daughter. Now I realise it was for all the wrong reasons and he was just trying to groom her."

Prostitution

She advertise her service online. She advertise herself as Shilpa Lee, and she serves £130-an-hour service. The undercover reporter went to her apartment in Salford, Manchester to uncover her activities. She’s currently doing her masters in economics as part-time 2 years course in London.
There are a lot of versions of the reports. The Singapore’s Strait Times said that she’s a Malaysian prodigy but actually it’s not. Other’s said that her parents are Malaysian but it’s only her mother.

Malaysia has made a lot of fuss about saving her. Need to be reminded. She’s not even Malaysian. Did her mom pay the tax? I doubt it. And there’s a 'Save Sufiah Programme'. What? There are a lot more prostitute in Malaysia that have to sell their body in order to pay their tuition fees OK. Why not search and help them instead of helping this non-Malaysian girl. And there’s also some commented on the issue saying that ‘Come back to Malaysia and you’ll have many friends here.’ What come back? She’s not even Malaysian ok. Don’t waste the tax payer money on something controversial like this. Malaysia has been a welfare country helping those in need. I don’t mind Malaysia helping those countries at wars. But helping one single individual that is not even Malaysian is really waste of money. There are still other people who needs them in Malaysia.
This may come through that as a Muslim we have to help other Muslims that’s not on the right track to go back on track. But there are other way of helping this person. She’s an adult. She should have know what’s wrong and right. Malaysia should not be a busy body and try to help directly this non-Malaysian girl.
It’s like who ever wants to get free education in the Britain from Malaysia, just make some controversial thing like Sufiah Yusof and the government will help you through your study. Is that it?
And some reports even include some statement to the bloggers about the ‘Fitna’ short film.
From Bernama.
On another development, Zahid urged Muslim bloggers to help counter the attack against Islam by Dutch legislator Geert Wilders through his short film "Fitna" which was posted on the Internet.
"This is the time for the bloggers to do something useful and not just use their blogs to condemn the government," he said.
I’d say whatever.
In every issue they still have something to condemn about the blogger.
p/s- I’m boycotting the Dutch products but the mainstream TV still shows their ads but they told the people to boycott the products. Hypocrites much. Yeah2. They already paid and contract and all. Didn’t you have anything that couldn’t be bent? A contract is just a piece of paper right?

24 Day - Pak Ungku

Professor Diraja Tun Dr. Ungku Abdul Aziz bin Ungku Abdul Hamid

This is the full name includes with the title. I got this thanks to this so call unreliable Wikipedia.
I listen to his so call talk at Radio24. The talk open a new perception in a few things currently in Malaysia. The talk mainly focus on the economy in Malaysia. Here's a few things that I heard in my own words of course. Its not according to the sequence of the talk.

Discipline In The Society

Malaysian being said to be lack of discipline. The easiest example given was to look at the primary school children. We compare school children age 7 to 9 in Malaysia and school children at the same age range in the west. We only compare the handwriting. We pick out 10 children from Malaysia and 10 children from the west. If you can see the handwriting of children from Malaysia and from the west, there are 10 different style of handwriting given by the children from Malaysia and 10 almost the same style of handwriting by the children from the west. This show the indiscipline of school children in Malaysia.
Also being said that the primary school teachers did not focus on the students handwriting. The teachers actually did not target the students to write uniformly but to only focus on the getting the students know how to write and read. The only uniform handwriting that could be found is in their 3 lines notebook. But in other notebook and exercise book you could see different style of handwriting given by the children. People would say that they are still in practice to write. This scenario also the same with the older age range in the primary school.

Iskandar Development Region (IDR)

The report of the IDR had been read by Pak Ungku and he said that it was great and impressive. The report was the theory of IDR. It said that it open 50,000 job opportunity and all the good things that it will bring to the state and country. What it lack of is that the practical of it. How are they going to run the IDR until it provide the 50,000 job opportunity. In the report doesn't say where the 50, 000 job opportunity going to be.
He also said that Johor has been in good luck. Since he's a johorian he maybe one-sided. Throughout the history, Johor was not influence by the colonialism. That was in the past but now to ensure the harmonies of Johor it must not involve themselves with the corruptions and keep its integrity.
In the previous 12th General Election, the government promote the concept of IDR. Being asked about the state of Selangor was now in the hand of the opposition party how is it effecting its economy. The economy may grow as usual because of the infrastructure is complete.
Pak Ungku also suggest that the government should make a corridor or something like a highway in the Sabah and Sarawak to develop both of the state more efficiently. The government should concentrate on Sabah and Sarawak development.

Terminology Usage

The change of the term "rasuah" to "integriti". The term integrity may sound better but the effectiveness of the word itself may be less. This is because of the term "integriti" will be widen the usage of perspective of it which include in the doing each person duty, giving out task, sincerity, etc. With the change of the term some people may thing that the government is now not focus on the corruption. The term "rasuah" is more effective because its direct, and easy to understand. Everyone will be clear on the mission is to eliminate corruption. The term integrity may weakens the mind because the term is not strong enough.

My personal criticize on this is why the sudden change of the term? They like to change the term when something BIG happen to the country. Remember when the police change the "Cepat dan Betul" to "Mesra, Cepat dan Betul". What had happen before they change it? See what I mean.

Since Pak Ungku used to study in Japan. He also said that even though the culture in Japan does not do all this corruption crap, the people in Japan are the same in every where else in the world even compare with Indonesia, US, Malaysia, in the Japan, corruption still there. They're no difference.

Foreign Direct Investment (FDI)

To begin with Kelantan that has not been develop rapidly like other state. We cannot judge Kelantan now after the GE. We have to give them time 5-6 month or a year because we don't know the politics format and the real power distribution also the policy that they're fighting for.
The polar of the FDI may change, its hard to predict. We compare Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. In Singapore, they are offering high technology. In Indonesia, they are offering land which that its price are low. In Malaysia, it should be offering service like opportunity. The people should be motivated and also must learn not only English and Malay but also another foreign language. For example in India, the call service there are very efficient.
In Malaysia another thing that they are lack of is the maintenance attitude. Giving example of the fall apart of the ceiling in most government office. Most company in Malaysia did not give the after-sales service to maintain the product. What they expect is that after they sell or buy it, when it's broken just buy a new one.
To compare with the neighbouring country, exclude the Brunei because the economy is unusual because they depend on the oil only. Giving an example of Vietnam which have a very high discipline because of the communism in their people.
Criticising on the OIC, its just bunch of world leaders giving talk this and that, sign a resolution or something like that but back to the country didn't even do what was finally agreed on. Say there're 4 Middle East leaders gather, even though all four of them are Arabians the have 5 difference thought about everything. They are not unite. Even in the OIC influence is not working for them. Even in the Arab States of the Gulf they are pro-US. They didn't even put their wealth in their own local bank but they ask the Jews to take care of their wealth. How's that.

I think that's about it the talk. It's actually not complete. The talk was for 2 hours and I only manage to listen to them in the last hour.

23 Day - Hungry #1

That is Nasi Lemak on top of a banana leaf. The sambal main ingredient is kupang (not that fresh but fresh out of the polystyrene). The so call salad is Ulam Raja. All made by me lovely mom I only made the banana leaf and so-call salad. I didn't make them I pick them up at my backyard.
